Nexus Prompt 4. The embodiment of coziness. and 101 Ways to Say I Love You Prompt 9. "I fed your pets while you were away."
Rik hated missing shows but at least with Hans back in the line-up he could slip away for a couple days without the Hammers needing to cancel shows. It was schooling and unfortunately, with the concert schedule Billy couldn’t come along. Torden did to calm Billy’s fears that something would happen to Rik back in Denmark. The older Dane wasn’t a threat to Billy’s jealousy like Ollie was and old enough that a promise to keep Rik safe meant more to his lover. Besides, Torden wanted to see his parents and they would want to see Rik, for sure.
It was the first time the two guitarists had been separated. The feelings were difficult and the nights lonely even if there were only four of them. It felt like four too many. Rik didn’t want to think about it while he was away and found an eager excitement when he got off the plane, heading for the hotel where the bands were staying.
All he wanted to do was hug Billy but first he had to check in on Bonne. Aarne said he would care for the Dane’s beloved pet. Finding the drummer, he was told that Bonne was in one of the rooms waiting. After a firm hug of greeting Rik was on his way to reunite with his companion and his lover.
He stepped into the room thinking that it was Aarne and Joe’s but immediately realizing it wasn’t. Billy was sitting on the bed reading. He looked up with a huge smile as Rik watched the little white head with the giant charcoal ears peek up over the book laying on the Brit’s lap. It was adorable. Rik found his heart skipping beats seeing the two beings he loved the most sitting together.
“I played with her and fed her while you were away.”
Rik was already crawling across the bed to squeeze up close to Billy’s side. A kiss and then the soft little whiskers were pushing into his hands. He laughed and snuggled up with Billy, leaning heavily on his side while Billy stroked his hair and Bonne bounded into his lap. This was the perfect reunion.
“Thank you.” Rik smiled because he knew Billy was getting used to his pet, but this was a surprise to see them together. Bonne curled up in the crook of his arm while he looked up at Billy from under his wild hair that still had Billy’s fingers in it. “I missed you.”
“We missed you, too, smukke.” Billy kissed his head and then leaned in close with his cheek on top of the Dane’s head.
“It was hard being away, but the concert went well.” Rik murmured as he sunk farther into Billy’s side and the Brit’s arm slipped around him. He was sleepy from the plane flights and the work and the concert, and the visits. All he wanted to do was lounge here with the other guitarist for the rest of the day.
